Transportation: Getting To Williamsburg, Virginia


Planning a visit to Williamsburg, Virginia? Transportation options make it easy to get to and from this historic region quickly and easily! The most modern of transportation conveniences allow you to enjoy more of your visit to this historic and authentically Colonial city, whether you choose to drive, fly, or take the train:

Driving directions to Williamsburg, Virginia:

From Points North and Richmond:
Take 95S to Route 64 East towards Williamsburg/Norfolk. Take Exit 238 to VA-132S towards Colonial Williamsburg. Follow specific directions to individual Bed and Breakfasts from this point.



From Points South and South Carolina:
Take 95N to 295N (exit 46 towards Washington). From 295, you will take Route 64 East towards Williamsburg/Norfolk. Take VA-132 at exit 238 towards Williamsburg. Follow specific directions to individual Bed and Breakfasts from this point.


Williamsburg Area Airports:

There are three area airports that serve the immediate Williamsburg, VA area: Newport News, Richmond & Norfolk.

Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport

Richmond International Airport

Just a 45 minute drive from Williamsburg, Virginia. Richmond International Airport is currently undergoing a major expansion program designed to make it one of the most modern airports in the country. It is a very easy drive to Richmond - there is usually no traffic and the drive is well marked.

Norfolk International Airport

Norfolk International Airport serves the Greater Hampton Roads area and northeastern North Carolina.

Dulles International

You can also fly into Dulles and take a car, bus or a train into Williamsburg. Dulles is approximately 2 1/2 hours from Williamsburg and offers low fares.

Williamsburg Transportation Center:

This quaint station is centrally located, offering visitors a host of options for getting in and around Williamsburg, to and from their respective destinations. There are waiting areas with snack machines and visitor information for the days ahead. Cab fares run about $3 from the train station to most of our Williamsburg Bed & Breakfast locations.
