Williamsburg B&Bs Rank in the South
Release Date: 6/11/2005
WILLIAMSBURG - Two bed and breakfasts on Jamestown Road are among eight from the South named regional winners in BedandBreakfast.com awards for 2005.
Based on votes from guests, the website ranked the Inn at 802 fourth in the region, while the Cedars of Williamsburg came in seventh.
Over a 12-month span, B&B guests cast more than 18,000 votes. The site checked votes for validity and tallied them to come up with regional, national and international winners.
‘We would like to personally thank our wonderful guests who have made opening and operating the Inn at 802 enjoyable. You are the reason we are here,’ said Cathy Bradley. She and her husband Joe, own the inn. ‘To be awarded this recognition is indeed an honor. We have every intention of continuing to provide exemplary accommodations to visitors to the Williamsburg area.’
‘The entire team at the Cedars is very excited by and happy with this recognition,’ said Bob Tubbs. He and his wife, Grace own the B&B. ‘This award validates all of the special effort the entire team makes to pamper our guests. We are exceptionally proud of our team and extend a special thanks to our guests.’
Another Virginia inn, the Long Hill B&B in Winchester, was ranked first in the South. Others in the top eight included inns in Durham, N.C., Springfield, Ky., Gainesville and Melbourne Fla., and Mentone, Ala.
‘We’ve know that the south is filled with real B&B gems,’ said Sandy Soule, editor of BedandBreakfast.com and a B&B guidebook author. ‘We are delighted that Inn-goers agreed, and voted for a wonderful group of deserving inns in the Southeast.’
