Create
a new family tradition with Christmas Town at
Busch Gardens
Williamsburg. This theme park never skimps on the details -
that’s why it has won The World's Most Beautiful Theme Park for
more than 20 years – and that's why Christmas Town is always
breathtaking.
Even if you think you’ve seen it all – you’ll love
the over-the-top decorations and lights that set the mood for
the holidays. Christmas Town exceeds expectations with its astounding bounty
of holiday cheer, throughout the European-themed park.
For
classic photo opportunities, head to Santa's Workshop or the
Irish show “Santa’s Fireside Feast.” You can enjoy holiday music
and shows throughout the park, and accompany them with food from
the old world, like traditional Italian or German Christmas
dinners. If you just want a snack, grab some kettle corn and
wassail to keep you warm on your journey through the park.
Children will be delighted with the experience, but especially
with the live penguins in the Ice Palace in France and the
Sesame Street Christmas show in the Globe Theatre. The entire
park appeals to young and old with light shows, special holiday
shopping and music.
Some of the rides are even open, if a bit of
adrenaline gets you in the spirit! (or you could just enjoy a
peppermint hot chocolate while you watch others brave the Alpengeist roller coaster.)

It opens right after Thanksgiving and runs until the end of the
year – so when your family is looking for something special to
do, you can head over to the park to explore. (It is closed on
Christmas Day, though, so that everyone can spend it at home
with their families.)
If you want to check it out before you go, try the
Busch Gardens WebCam, and watch the Christmas tree light show every evening.
Ticket prices vary, and season pass holders benefit with
discounted rates.
